Last night I went to the movies with my mum and my bro to watch 'Puaka Tebing Biru'. That movie was kinda awesome for a Malay movie. I mean, it's quite an improvement. I thought it'd be one of those sucky malay horror movie. But yeah, basically a good one. Maybe it was the fact that we sat so close to the screen than we usually did. It was pure suspense right from the start it just kept your eyes glued on the screen because you just wanna know what'd the stupid freakin ghosts do next.
So it started in a fishermen village with two young ladies, Ratna (Nasha Aziz) and Ayu (Umie Aida) and Lia, Ratna's little sister. So la-di-da, Ratna went to the city for seven years to work and then haunted by a lady ghost and a child ghost. Berijap lah pokoknya the way they appear. Memajal ani wah. So yeah, in the end rupanya pasal Ratna left Ayu when she needed her the most. When she left Ayu was preggie with a fisherboy's baby. Fisherboy named Mokhsin (Fahrin). So yeah Ayu was scared like crap when she discovered Mokhsin's boat sank in the sea. So she ran to an isolated island and thought that she had to deliver the baby alone. Skali... rupanya alum mati that Mokhsin. I thought he died and came back for her from the dead, you know like Nang-Nak. Rupanya really alive. Huhu~ So he came to the Island and promised to be with her when she delivers and they had sex again I think when they reunited. Palui wah that guy. He asked her to leave the baby when it's born. She didn't want to but he said 'sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do'. Irresponsible bastard. And he only came to her at night because he didn't want anyone else to suspect him. So the night she was supposed to give birth, he wasn't there. So she delivered on her own. It was soooo kesian. After that she was so thirsty so she kinda walk (kesian! she wasn't supposed to walk but someone has got to do the job) to the well. Bla bla bla and she fell into the well, bloody and all. Ofcourse she couldn't swim cos she just gave birth so she drowned. Mokhsin came a bit too late. Baby crying, girlfriend dead. The baby was later found by a lady named Ara and she raised the baby for like, seven, six years? So Mokhsin kept the body until it turned to skeleton. Crazy ass. And Ika was later dead. (She was on a swing that Mokhsin had built near the water and the swing collapsed, she drowned and when Mokhsin found out he hid Ika for seven days with the dead girlfriend. Psycho.) Then he returned the body to Ara by putting it in a boat). Then Ika and Ayu haunted Ratna because I dunno, probly they think it's all her fault for leaving Ayu alone. They possesed Lia as well. Man, this story is quite long. So basically Ratna JUST had to find out what was wrong. Mbari sasak! Sekadar wah antunya ah.
All-in-all, the storyline's fine, excellent cinematography but I have to say membari sasak jua. But then again, it's just a movie. I noticed this: they didn't use much makeup here. Just for Ayu's part I think, green paint for the face and blue lipstick haha... And Nasha Aziz looks like a guy without the makeup. And I couldn't take my eyes off her nose - it's THAT noticeable. But she's still way better-looking than some others I've seen. Fahrin might be a good actor but I guess this part didn't suit him well. Macam perv. It's all about the sex for him here. It just sucks in the end, but it's amazing how it managed to get my attention all the way.
